Our Team

Brian Cleland is the Co-Founder and President of Live for 227, which he and his wife, Merrilyn, along with their oldest son, Matt, founded in honor of Trevor.  A retired U.S. Air Force veteran who works the West Ada School District in Career Technical Education (CTE), Brian is passionate about helping students discover and pursue careers that align with their interests and talents. Together, they are committed to honoring Trevor's legacy by awarding scholarships, supporting individuals and families in times of need, and inspiring others to live with purpose, generosity, and compassion—just as Trevor did.

I am a licensed cosmetology instructor with more than 30 years' experience in the beauty industry. I am passionate about education, and supporting the next generation through scholarships. I have served multiple terms the Idaho Barber and Cosmetology Services Licensing Board and have been involved in national leadership positions within the NIC, including Region 4 Director, Scholarship Committee Chair and Education Chair to name a few. I have actively contributed to rulemaking and legislative efforts within the beauty industry and regularly engaged in public speaking to share insights and support professional development. I am so honored to support and collaborate with the Live for 227 Foundation, in memory of my son Trevor Cleland, furthering his passion and love for powersports.

Neal Murphy brings more than 30 years of leadership and public service to Live for 227. A close friend and mentor to Trevor Cleland, Neal is passionate about honoring Trevor's legacy by helping others pursue their dreams through scholarships and community support.A retired Colonel in the United States Air Force and Idaho Air National Guard, Neal also served as the Idaho Transportation Department's State Emergency Manager. Today, he continues serving the community as a Golf Commissioner for the City of Nampa, bringing extensive leadership, problem-solving, and organizational experience to the Board.Outside of Live for 227, Neal enjoys spending time with his wife and children, supporting his son with Down syndrome, volunteering in the community, and embracing the outdoors.

Hi I’m Megan Hensley! An Esthetician by trade, I found my other love when my now husband introduced me to Pleasant Valley Raceway, now Skyline, shortly after we started dating.

​My commitment to the sport runs deep, I spent five years on the Owyhee Motorcycle Club (OMC) Board of Directors, including two years as President. Working at Skyline, helping out at MVMX and continuing to support OMC is a huge part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way! The club is also where I built my friendships with Brian, Merrilyn, and Trevor. Trevor’s kind heart and the time he always took to connect with me are the kinds of moments that make this community so special to me. I’m proud to be a part of Trevor's legacy that is Live for 227.

Staci Low currently serves as Director of Human Resources for West Ada School District, bringing more than 30 years of K–12 leadership in administration, Career & Technical Education (CTE), and human resources.A committed CTE advocate, Staci has served on the Meridian Technical Charter High School Board since 2009 and currently serves as Vice-President of the Idaho Career & Technical Education Foundation, where she previously chaired the scholarship committee.Earlier on, Staci was Director of Career & Technical Education for West Ada School District (2009–2024), where she oversaw the districtwide CTE program. Staci connected with the Cleland family while working alongside Brian as the CTE industry liaison and had the privilege of watching his sons, Matt and Trevor grow and pursue their passions in completing CTE pathways.Staci lives in Emmett with her husband, son, and two dogs and enjoys traveling and sporting events.

Travis Mather is a Boise native with a background in finance and professional experience in the residential and commercial construction industries. Combining financial expertise with real-world industry insight, he brings a practical, results-driven perspective to organizational leadership and long-term planning.

A longtime friend and neighbor of the Cleland family, Travis had the privilege of watching Trevor grow into an impressive individual while doing life alongside his own children, creating a meaningful personal connection. This heartfelt bond, along with the tragic loss, drives his sincere commitment to supporting the organization’s impact and future success.

Deeply rooted in the Treasure Valley, Travis is proud to serve on the board and contribute to initiatives that strengthen and support the local community in the many ways Trevor aspired to and demonstrated through his own generosity.

Ryan Caufield serves as Director of IT for Live For 227. An Idahoan through and through, he was born in the state and after moving away more times than he can count he kept finding his way back, drawn by a love for the place he's always called home.

His career has spanned software and web development, IT, and management. Today he brings that experience into the classroom as a web development teacher in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department at Renaissance High School, helping students build real-world skills in tech.

It was in this most recent chapter that Ryan met Brian Cleland, along with Brian's sons and his wife, Merrilyn. That connection led to an invitation he counts as a true honor: joining the 227 team as Director of IT, where he's grateful to put his technical expertise to work for the mission.
